Not long ago, I had the opportunity to stay in the executive suite at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. We hadn’t had the chance to review it yet so in this edition of the Andrew Rivkin Travel Review we thought we’d do so!
Our occasion was a quiet yet luxurious bachelor party for a friend of ours who was soon to be married, but the Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is perfect for any stay during your time in the Queen City of North Carolina. The most lasting impression from the luxury hotel, aside from its elegance, is the quality of its service. All of our needs were immediately met with the utmost diligence, and though I’m sure the staff had hundreds of other guests to take care of, they gave us the feeling of a one-room inn with the most personalized of service. The concierge service was second to none, and they did not hesitate to reserve us a table at one of Charlotte’s finest dining establishments, as well as get us VIP entry to a dance club where standing in line is standard for most.
Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, this luxury hotel greets guests elegantly at College and Trade Streets. The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is an eighteen story boutique hotel with 146 rooms, and it actually operates as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) hotel; distinguishing it as the first eco-friendly hotel within the greater Charlotte area and the first within The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. It’s sophisticated and very stylish, with warm and friendly service. It’s within walking distance of the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Discovery Place Museum, and a variety of other entertainment options that are unique to the Charlotte area.
The LEED Gold-certified Ritz-Carlton hotel features over 12,000 square feet of function space, a bi-level penthouse Spa & Wellness Center, swimming pool, Urban Sip wine and scotch bar, Bar Cocoa dessert dining and retail experience, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and a street-side BLT Steak restaurant. The Ritz-Carlton has even earned the 2013 AAA Five Diamond rating, and has been recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the World’s Best Hotels in 2013, and by Conde Nast Traveler as a Readers’ Choice in 2012.
