During Andrew Rivkin’s most recent visit to Chicago he had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at one of the city’s finest dining establishments. Carmine’s at 1043 N Rush St near the north side of Chicago is one of nearly a dozen restaurants operated by Rosebud Restaurants, which have been shaping the Italian dining scene in Chicago for over thirty years.
Andrew had lunch there while he was out and about one afternoon in the Windy City. Though the restaurant is better known for its casual and spirited nightlife, lunch there was just as enjoyable. As an appetizer Andrew had the stuffed mushrooms, which he insists even those that generally don’t enjoy mushrooms would have seconds. For lunch he had the Rosebud Burger with hand cut fries which he thoroughly enjoyed. Though he did admit it was difficult to stay away from Carmine’s cold bar menu which features oysters on the half shell, Alaskan King Crab legs and seared tuna. Check out the entire lunch menu HERE.
Carmine’s features a rotating menu of steaks, seafood and signature pasta dishes that exquisitely represent the Rosebud experience of superior food and generous portions. Since 1995 the Chicago restaurant has offered two levels of dining, a busy bar, live entertainment and a canopied patio that acts as an outdoor cafe. Inside the restaurant the upper level of seating acts as more of a conversation-friendly dining area, while the lower level is where the bar accompanies a dining area and the space hosts live entertainment Thursday through Saturday.
There are hundreds of reviews for this Chicago dining option online at Yelp.com, many of which hail the restaurant’s signature martinis, awesome menu and warming atmosphere. Andrew Rivkin certainly enjoyed his afternoon dining experience at Carmine’s, and he can’t wait for his next visit to Chicago! If you live in the area or the next time you’re visiting Chicago, book your dinner reservation online at Carmine’s Official Website.
